Chapter 1:  The News

 

Once upon a time, in a far off land, there was a knight with shining armor.  He was the bravest knight in the land, but his friends thought he was crazy because he rode a dragon!  His dragon was loyal and good, but he was different from the other dragons.  He was a small dragon, but stronger than any other dragon in Dragonland.

One day he got called to fight a giant no smaller than 250 feet!  Was he scared?  He admitted that he was a little scared, but he was going to obey the king.  

The king said, “You can have the princess if you can find her.  She is my favorite daughter.  Please find her!”

“Okay,” said the knight.

“Here, take the magic sword.”

“Okay,” said the knight.

“You bet,” said King Harold.

“Wow!” said the knight.

Then he rode off.  

 

 

Chapter 2:  The Arrival

 

When he arrived, he saw the giant.  He started at him.  WHACK!  The huge giant hit him off his dragon, but he caught him.

“Phew!” he said. “Thanks, Semore Dragon!”

He tried to make a plan.  He thought and thought.  

Then he said, “Aha!  I can zigzag around the giant, then whack him with the magic sword.”

As soon as he put out his hand to get the sword, the sheath was empty.  

“Oh, no!” he thought.

Then he saw the shininess of the gold sword in the giant’s pocket.

“How am I going to get it back?” he thought.  He was also thinking, “Where is the princess?  And how am I going to get the sword?”

All of a sudden, he heard, “Help me!  Help me!”

He saw a beautiful princess in a cage hanging over a lava pit!
